Did you know, Ryfields Gym is a trading name of PWPT Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales.  Our company number is 09774197.

Our Data Protection Officer is Paul Warburton and is contactable using the contact details at the bottom of the page. 

Although it sounds like a line, here at Ryfields Gym, we are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of our visitors to our website and to maintaining ensuring all our visiting clients are safe and protected.

In particular, and in relation to your data, we want you to know that Ryfields Gym is not in the business of selling, renting or trading or giving email lists, contact lists or any other part of your information with other companies and businesses for marketing purposes.

We just don’t do that sort of thing. But just in case you don’t believe us, in this Privacy Policy, we’ve provided lots of detailed information on when and why we collect your personal information, how we use it, the limited conditions under which we may disclose it to others and how we keep it secure. Its not exciting, but if you fancy a bit of bedtime reading, grab a cuppa and read on.


Google Analytics

When someone visits RyfieldsGym.co.uk (like you are now) we use a third party service called Google Analytics to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behavior patterns.  We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site.  This helps us to make changes to our website so it becomes more user-friendly and is easier for our visitors to navigate and understand.

This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.


Onsite WiFi

When you use Ryfields Gym Wi-Fi we may collect data about:

  1. a) your device;
  2. b) the volume of data which you use;
  3. c) the websites and applications which you access; and
  4. d) your usage by access time, frequency and location.

This information is collected by the router automatically and we are unable to personally identify you by it.  We do not use this information for anything.



When you join us as a member, we need to collect some Personal Information from you.  We’ve found Wufoo is the easiest way to collect this information.  You can access their privacy statement here.

Here’s a list of what we need, why we need it and what we do with it:

Name; We need this to be able to refer to you by name.

Contact number; So we can speak to you on the phone if there is a problem with your membership or product, or if we have somethings specific we need to discuss with you.

Your email address; We will add you to our email database and ensure you start receiving our weekly newsletter.  Our email handler is a company called Aweber.  They are very secure and you can access their privacy policy notice here.

First line of address & postcode; Our payment system requires us to register an address with each set of bank details.  Our payment handling system is Go Cardless, also very secure and you can access their privacy policy notice here.

Bank details; We need this to set up your membership.  Our Data Protection Officer is the only person who see’s this information and it is only used within the GoCardless system to set up your Direct Debit. 

Medical Questions;  As we are a Gym, we need to have a basic understanding of any medical issues before you start training with us.  This is so we can keep you safe and healthy.  We may contact you by phone to discuss anything which causes us concern.

Our Discount Club;  We offer you membership to our exclusive discount club.  If you choose to take a look, we will contact you to make an appointment to have a look and see what benefits you qualify for.  You are under no obligation at any point to purchase anything. 

Digital Signature;  We ask to you confirm you have understood all the information in the membership application form and to also confirm you are happy for a Personal Trainer to contact you to ensure you are enjoying your experience and getting the most out of your membership.  You are able to decline any contact if you wish. 


Mailing list

As part of the registration process for our weekly e-newsletter, we collect your name & email address.

We use that information for a couple of reasons: to tell you about stuff you’ve asked us to tell you about; to contact you if we need to obtain or provide additional information; to check our records are right and to check every now and then that you’re happy and satisfied.

We do not rent, trade or share our email lists with other organisations and businesses.

We use a third-party provider, Aweber, to deliver our newsletter. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. For more information, please see Aweber’s privacy notice.

You can unsubscribe to general mailings at any time of the day or night by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or by emailing our data protection officer Paul Warburton.

You are entitled to view, amend or delete the information that we hold.  Please email any requests you have to our Data Protection Officer Paul Warburton.
